Kmart Super Doubles - Over $50 Worth for $.74!!

I went to Kmart on Sunday because they are doing super doubles (up to $2, so a $2 coupon takes off $4). My daughter was very excited about some of the things I got, and she insisted on being in the picture too. :) Here's what I got for a grand total of $.74!

2 Easy Mac @ $1 - Minus $.55/1 coupon = $.90/2 after doubling; I also got these because I needed to finish out the Nabisco rebate
2 turtles (fillers I had to grab at the checkout to keep my total from being negative because I apparently miscalculated something. Isn't life tough when you "have" to grab chocolate in the check-out lane?!)

I also used a coupon for $5 off a $50 purchase that I got for signing up for Kmart's emails. I was pretty happy with my trip!

Kmart Super Doubles Deals

Kmart is running a super doubles promotion again this week, although it's not advertised in the circulars and you'll probably want to check with your store to confirm their rules for this particular promotion. This round of doubles seems to be the least consistent. The one consistent thing seems to be that you can't double more than four like coupons per transaction. Some stores may require that your pre-coupon total must be at least $25, others may limit you to 10 doubled coupons per transaction, and some might say they're only doubling Proctor & Gamble coupons (although other coupons will likely still double at the register anyway). I went yesterday and got over $50 worth of stuff for a grand total of $.74! Clearly, there are some great deals! To make it even better, when sign up for Kmart's e-newsletter here, you can get a coupon for $5 off a $50 order. So, if you get $50 worth of merchandise (before coupons), you can use this coupon and get an extra $5 cushion to absorb the cost of things that were not actually free.

Food:
Special K cereal or crackers @ $2.50 - Use $1 printable for crackers or blueberry cereal (see coupons.com link in my sidebar) = $.50/box.
**Plus...buy 5 Special K and get $5 off your order instantly. Use a $1 coupon on all five boxes, and the total is $2.50 after doubling (5 * $.50/box). Subtract $5 instant savings, and you get $2.50 in overage! Note: you'll want to make sure you have enough other things in your order to absorb the overage, so you don't have a negative total.

Kmart Super Doubles - Week of 8/30

As I mentioned in my previous post, some Kmarts are doing Super Doubles again this week. Participating stores will double coupons up to $2, so coupons with a face value of $2 or less will double up to the price of the item (they will not double to more than the cost of the items covered by the coupon). Coupons greater than $2 are redeemed at face value. You cannot double more than 4 like coupons, and your pre-coupon total has to be at least $25. Depending on the store, they may limit your total number of doubled coupons to either 10 or 25.

There is also another perk to go along with this already great promotion. Go here and you can print coupons for free items based on your pre-coupon total of "health, beauty, food, and consumable" items; these include a free 4-pk. of AA or AAA batteries with a $25 purchase, a free American Greetings card with a $20 purchase, and a free roll of paper towels with a $15 purchase.

Note: When printing coupons from the internet, you can often print two of each coupon by hitting the back button on your browser.

Attention Kmart Shoppers!

About a year ago, Kmart started having periodic "super double" coupon events. During these promotions, they double coupons up to $2 (i.e., any coupon with a face value of $2 or less takes off double the face value). Under normal circumstances, I find Kmart to be incredibly overpriced, but they usually have some truly amazing deals during super doubles. They had super doubles this past week, and they will be having another next week. If your local Kmart is participating, I highly recommend checking it out. Tonight was the last night of the current promotion, and this is what I got:

I also used a coupon for $3 off a $20 purchase. Before coupons, my total was $56.68; after coupons, it was $5.97. That's a savings of almost 90%! Plus, after I paid, I got a coupon for $5 off any "book, magazine, health, beauty, food, or consumables" purchase.

Some of these deals will still be available next week, and I'm sure when next week's ad comes out, there will be even more possibilities. But with coupons, you should be able to at least get the following for free (well, you'll have to pay tax :) ):

If you've never before ventured into Kmart during super doubles, there are a few things you might want to note:

• They have a lot of rules, and they often change from one promotion to the next. This time, the rules were that you had to have at least $25 worth of "grocery and drugstore purchases," you couldn't use more than 25 total coupons at one time, and you couldn't use more than 4 of the same coupon in one transaction.
• Kmart also has a lot of ads. They have a monthly ad and usually 2-3 ads, all of which are valid for the week
• Kmart registers are amazingly inefficient at doubling coupons. Sometimes a screen pops up and requires the cashier to select which items the coupon should apply to. If the cashier does not choose the correct items, your coupons may not double properly, or if he/she does not immediately respond to the screen, any other coupons scanned will not be taken off. I always check my Kmart receipts pretty closely because there is a lot of room for error in their system.
• If you have a buy one, get one free (BOGO) coupon for something that is priced at $2 or less, the coupon will double and give you both items for free.
• Not all Kmart stores participate in double coupon events. You may want to call and make sure your store is participating. If you call Kmart's corporate customer service line, they may know more about next week's doubles promotion than your local store does at this point.

When next week's ad is available, I will post a more extensive list of the good deals, but hopefully this will help you see some of the things that are possible.
